Stabilization & Transition to Adaptation Phase

Because it is crucial to individualize YOUR OFM journey this final week of the Metabolic Reset a flex week. Some of you will be ready to start the Adaptation Phase of OFM while others will be continuing to stabilize their basic Metabolic Reset. Our goal is to allow and support you to move as fast or as slow as your individual transition occurs.

So this week review the following:

Dietary Considerations:
1. Continue to keep concentrated carbs out of the diet if you are still stabilizing, however, those who are adapting and back to normal training/physical activity levels we advise you begin to include a small portion of concentrated carbohydrates ( ½-1 cup of rice, small to medium potato/sweet potato, some fruit back into the diet prior to or after a long and/or harder physical activity. Real Food. No junk.
2. Be aware of how foods, especially concentrated carbohydrates, affect your:
  1. Energy levels and overall performance
  2. Hunger/appetite triggers
  3. GI Tract & possible allergic responses even subtle, slight ones
3. 2-3 meals per day, OFM supplementation, eat to satiety & no snacking
4. Use Vegetable Juice (like V8) and/or Broth/Stock to attenuate hunger between meals.
Continue to whittle down & deal with potential variables that could be holding you back from optimal fat metabolism:
1. Work on YOUR response to the identified stressors in your life
2. Habit change for EMF exposures:
  1. Have you dialed back your evening screen time?
  2. Are you managing your device use optimally to reduce EMF yet be practical in the context of today’s modern world?
  3. Do you recognize chronic stressors have as big an impact on your health and performance as the diet & training?
3. Have you implemented habit change or mitigation strategies for other Environmental exposures which could be impacting you ability to burn ‘fat as fuel’
4. Potential underlying medical conditions and/or medications
Continue to increase physical activity / training volume and intensity where possible:
1. Increase weekly routine of regular physical activity based upon matching your training load to your ‘Life Load’.
2. Continue with once a week continuous aerobic physical activity for 2-4+ hours but do try to increase the duration. Use Vespa, other supplements and proper hydration, as needed to help you comfortably push this aerobic envelope.
3. If you feel up to ‘pushing’ your intensity, include 1-2 HIIT and/or tempo type workouts using the OFM protocol for HIIT interval training to stay as aerobic as possible. Again, for these workouts Vespa & adequate hydration status are important to help you feel stable and like ‘pushing’ yourself for a successful workout.
